Blue Heron Campground – Located just minutes from Stearns and the Blue Heron Mining Community, the campground offers a total of 45 sites all with water and electric hook-ups, picnic tables, fire-rings, access to restrooms and showers and a dump station. Campground reservations for sites within Big South Fork can now be made through National Recreation Reservation Service by calling 1-877-444-6777 or online at the National Recreation Reservation Service web site.

Bear Creek Horse Camp – Located about 20 mins from Stearns this campsite contains 24 individual sites. Each campsite offers water and electricity, tables, grills, tie-outs for 4 horses, access to modern restrooms with hot showers. Bear Creek Horse Camp is now operated by the National Park Service. Camping reservations can be made by calling 1-877-444-6777 or online at www.recreation.gov.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park – Located about 35 mins from Stearns, Cumberland Falls State Park is contained entirely within the Daniel Boone National Forest and is named for its major feature, 68-foot-tall Cumberland Falls.
