Yamacraw family,
After much deliberation and consultation with community organizers and state health experts over the past 24 hours, we feel that we must announce the following changes for this year’s race. In concern for you, your family and the community in which we hold Yamacraw, we have decided to reschedule the 2020 Yamacraw Trail Runs to November 21-22, 2020.
This obviously was not an easy decision to make. We have explored many options to keep from having to cancel or postpone the race. However, after receiving the recommendation to cancel/postpone the event by the Kentucky Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack as well as the state epidemiologist and CDC field officer, Doug Thoroughman, PhD, MS, we feel strongly this is the correct decision.
We recognize that the rescheduled date might not work for everyone so we have created three options for all currently registered runners as of March 13, 2020. Being just weeks out from the scheduled race weekend, and with the costs that the race as already accrued, we wanted to be as fair as we could be under the circumstances.
Here are the three options:
1. Run the rescheduled race on November 21-22, 2020.
2. 100% deferment and guaranteed spot into the 2021 race (projected for May 2021).
3. Withdraw and receive a 25% refund (via PayPal).
How do you select an option?
Ultrasignup will be sending all registrants an email with a link to select your preference from the 3 options above. You can also make your selection by clicking the edit link on your order receipt, or via the Registration History menu (when logged in)
The option to defer will be available until May 15, 2020.

Withdraws will need to be requested by email at runyamacraw@gmail.com and please put “2020 Yamacraw Withdraw” in the title.
*Please note, because of the large projected number of deferrals, for the 2021 race, there will only be a 25% refund option for either deferred or new registrants.
Current Waitlisters….
Invites from our waitlist will be put on hold until after the deferral period has ended on May 16, 2020. Waitlisters will retain their position on the waitlist and be sent invites in the order they registered.
Open Registration for the rescheduled 2020 November Race….
We will reopen registration to the public after the waitlist has cleared for the November race if our capacity has not been met.
Open registration for the 2021 Race….
Registration for the 2021 Yamacraw Trail Runs will open on October 1st December 1, 2020 at 12:00 AM EST.
Yamacraw is such an amazing race, weekend and experience that we did not want to cancel, so we truly hope you can join us in November. We wish you and your loved ones good health and happy running!!!
